Student-centered Services

Thrive in a student-centered community

Student services

UNT offers you a full array of student services, including the Health and WellnessCenter, Career Center, Student Money Management Center, Student Legal Services, Veterans Center, Cooperative Education and Internships, Counseling and Testing Services and Disability Accommodation. Child care grants are available to qualifying students.

You can also participate in any of the university's more than 300 student organizations, including the Graduate Student Council, which is the voice of UNT graduate students. The council represents your concerns to the faculty, administration and state government.

All enrollment-related services, including the graduate school admissions office, are in the Eagle Student Services Center. The ESSC after-hours desk is open on Saturday mornings and many evenings, providing information about the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies, graduate admission, campus tours, ID cards and academic records.

Recreation Center

UNT Recreation Center

UNT's huge, $31 million Pohl Recreation Center includes a climbing wall, 14,500-square-foot weight room, cardio zone, soccer gym, indoor jogging track, two pools and a spa. It's a premier luxury health club, and all enrolled students are members.

University Union

At the heart of the campus is the University Union, with its food court, coffee shop, bagel shop, convenience store, bookstore, bank, mail service, copy center, lounge areas, art gallery and billiards/darts/game area.

Transportation

A free shuttle bus serves the entire UNT campus, so you can get to class on time even if you live in a nearby apartment. The Denton County Transportation Authority's expressbus service from downtown Dallas provides commuter students with free rides with a valid UNT ID. A rail service from Dallas is scheduled to be in place by December 2010.
