An impressive array of resources enhances research, scholarship and creative activities, providing a rich environment for intellectual pursuits.

The university libraries house collections of almost 6 million cataloged items. With more than $3 million in recent external funding for research in digital access and preservation, UNT's nationally recognized digital library program offers millions of pages of historic and unique content to researchers and scholars around the world. Special collections include Texas rare books and maps, government documents, juvenile literature and early English manuscripts. The music library is one of the largest academic music collections in the United States.

Real-world connections

Industry leaders engage with students through research efforts, professional forums and networking events. The Center for Advanced Research and Technology, with more than $16 million in state-of-the-art materials characterization and processing instrumentation, supports research activities with partners in engineering, materials science, physics, chemistry and biology.

Businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth region value the quality of UNT programs. UNT's nationally accredited Cooperative Education and Internships office helps students find internship and practicum experiences that provide training and often lead to job offers following graduation.

"I've come to love and adore this place. It's like a family — you get to know your professors and form a rapport. They challenge me to step out of my shell and grow into who I want to be. They don’t hold your hand, though — you have to use your initiative and be determined."
— Athina Saides, master's student in counseling psychology
