Learn from an outstanding faculty

Expert faculty

A university's true strength resides in its faculty. Our faculty members are advancing the frontiers of knowledge through research and creative activities, providing graduate students with opportunities to participate in leading-edge discovery.

Scientific, professional and educational organizations recognize UNT's excellence in teaching and research.

For example, Rada Mihalcea, associate professor of computer science and engineering, received the U.S. Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the highest honor for a beginning scientist or engineer. She is among the top 100 university researchers nationwide to earn this recognition. Dr. Mihalcea and four other UNT faculty members also have earned the National Science Foundation's prestigious CAREER award for young teacher-scholars integrating research and education.

Other faculty honors include Fulbright Scholar awards, membership in the National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, fellowships with the American Council on Education and the American Chemical Society, and nominations for Grammy awards.
