UNT Library Carpentry SQL Workshop
UNT Libraries host events throughout the year, both in-person and virtual. These can include workshops, instruction sessions, and classes.
UNT Library Carpentry SQL Workshop
A wide range of student and faculty-centered services are the cornerstone of the University of North Texas Libraries' integral role in the UNT community. As the most-used service on campus and an essential component of education and research at UNT, the Libraries offer access to more than 6 million print and digital items along with innovative programs and support services and expert personnel to assist patrons in achieving their academic and scholarly goals.
Library Carpentry is made by people working in library- and information-related roles to help you:
- automate repetitive, boring, error-prone tasks
- create, maintain and analyze sustainable and reusable data
- work effectively with IT and systems colleagues
- better understand the use of software in research
- and much more...
Library Carpentry introduces you to the fundamentals of computing and provides you with a platform for further self-directed learning. For more information on what we teach and why, please see our paper "Library Carpentry: software skills training for library professionals".
Who: The course is for people working in library- and information-related roles. You don't need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented at the workshop.
Where: This training will take place online. The instructors will provide you with the information you will need to connect to this meeting.
When: May 19, 2022. Add to your Google Calendar.
Requirements: Participants must have access to a computer with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc.) that they have administrative privileges on. They should have a few specific software packages installed (listed below).
