Finding and Using Public Data in Research

Incorporating data in your thesis or dissertation is one way to provide persuasive evidence of a hypothesis. While there are many data made publicly available for use by researchers, finding them can be a challenge. This 1-hour workshop covers methods of identifying appropriate public data resources, understanding the limitations of public data, and best practices and other considerations for adding data to your scholarly output. The event is designed with graduate students in mind, but all are welcome to attend. Presented by the Research Support Services Department's data services librarian, Deborah Yun Caldwell. Light refreshments will be provided while supplies last!

Can't make it to campus? This event will be available virtually!
